Limitations and Exclusions
This warranty does not cover damage, deterioration or malfunction resulting from accident, negligence, misuse or abuse; damage in shipment of the product (claims must be presented to the carrier); repair, attempted repair or modifications made by anyone other than Journey Health & Lifestyle™, formerly known as firstSTREET for Boomers and Beyond, Inc.; any unit on which the serial number has been defaced, modified or removed; damages related to lightning, flood or circumstances beyond Journey Health & Lifestyle™ control; or products subjected to commercial or institutional use.
This warranty applies in North America only and is extended only to the original purchaser of the UPbed Independence and UPbed products when purchased directly from Journey Health & Lifestyle™ (USA) or its authorized distributors and is nontransferable. If you purchased an UPbed Independence or an UPbed Standard from one of Journey Health & Lifestyle’s™ authorized dealers, your first remedy for warranty claims is through the dealer from which the UPbed Independence or UPbed Standard was purchased. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other legal rights which may vary from place to place.
The foregoing warranty is exclusive and in lieu of all other express warranties, implied warranties, if any including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, and shall not extend beyond the duration of the express warranty provided herein. Journey Health & Lifestyle™ shall not be liable for any consequential or incidental damages whatsoever and disclaims any liability beyond the initial purchase price of the UPbed Independence or UPbed Standard product.
While everyone’s situation is different, the unique design of the UPbed Standard allows you to press one button to gently be raised to a nearly standing position. And the same easy process in reverse lowers you down to the position of your choice. If you can use a lift chair by yourself, then you likely can use an UPbed.

Will Medicare help pay for my UPbed Standard?
No. We work directly with the consumers and cannot bill any insurance companies. Your insurance company may reimburse you for a portion of the cost if they deem it medically neccessary and your plan offers that type of coverage.
What are the delivery and installation options for my UPbed Standard?
We have "White Glove Delivery" for just $199, which includes delivery inside your home, unpacking and assembling your UPbed Standard in the location you have chosen, and ensuring that it is working properly. The delivery team will remove all packaging materials. Please note that insurance and sanitary concerns do not allow us to take away your old mattress/box spring and we cannot rearrange any furniture in your home (including making space for your new UPbed Standard).
Is it easy to operate?
Definitely. The UPbed Standard has a simple remote control that is designed to be easy for seniors. There are six easy-to-push buttons. Each button only does one thing to keep it simple. The remote control is on a wire so there are no batteries and no way to lose it. It even has a convenient clip to hang it on the armrests so it's always at hand.
Can I make the bed adjustments move faster or slower?
The UPbed Standard moves 'slow and steady' to keep you safe.The precision motors start and stop without the sudden, jerky feeling that comes with inferior adjustable beds.
Can I adjust the head area separately from my legs?
Yes! There are separate buttons on the remote control for raising or lowering your head...and raising or lowering your legs (bends at the knee area) from a 'chair shape' to fully flat. This gives you virtually infinite choices of positions to maximize your comfort whether reading, watching TV or getting that perfect position for a great night's sleep.
Why doesn't the mattress fall out of the bed frame when it stands up?
The engineers really worked overtime here to create an elegant solution. The UPbed Standard mattress cover does more than just protect the memory foam mattress...it actually zips onto the entire bed frame to hold it securely in place! The 4-way stretch fabric is both breathable for your comfort and designed to flex with the bed into whatever position suits you best.
Do normal sheets fit on the UPbed Standard?
Yes. The UPbed Standard is sold as a Twin XL bed. Standard Twin XL bed sized linens will fit just right.
What do I do with a top sheet and blanket before raising the bed to avoid tripping on them when standing up and walking away from my UPbed Standard?
Most UPbed Standard owners simply drape the top sheet and blanket over one of the armrests and tuck it in a bit so it stays in place as the bed raises you up. Your legs and feet are now uncovered, and you can walk away from your bed without worrying about tripping over them.
Will my existing headboard and framework?
No. The UPbed Standard is built with an attractive frame. It replaces all of your existing bed, including the frame and any headboard and footboard. The UPbed Standard's attractive design looks like furniture rather than a hospital bed, so there's no need for "covering it up" with headboards and footboards. Also, these would get in the way of the UPbed Standard's unique ability to stand you up to get out of bed safely and easily.
How do the armrests work?
Your safety is the top priority, and the unique armrests protect you in several ways. In their 'flat' position, they serve as bed rails to keep you from accidentally falling out of bed. When the UPbed stands you up, they're right there to hold as supports when standing in front of your bed. The padding is not bulky, and the fabric is textured to give you a better grip.
If you want to enter or leave the bed from the side, you or a helper can simply pull a knob to raise and lock them in their "upright" position. They'll be out of your way...yet close enough to grab with a hand if needed for stability. Some owners also prefer this position when exiting from the foot of their UPbed Standard. They're also each fully removable if you don't need one or both of them at any time.
Is there a battery backup in case of power outage?
Included with the bed is a standard 9-volt battery that will allow you to put the bed in a lay flat position in the event of a power outage. This is for emergency, one-time use only and will not operate the bed repeatedly.
Shipping After placing your order, please allow about 1 to 3 business days (Mon-Fri) to process your order and get it shipped out of the warehouse. After that, please allow another 4 to 5 days on the road. Generally, we tell our customers to expect a delivery within 5 to 8 total days from the day of purchase. We use standard ground shipping (UPS or FedEx) for most items, but larger items such as beds or recliners require freight shipping and usually take about 1 to 3 weeks for delivery. If you order a larger item that requires freight delivery, the shipping company will call you about a week before the estimated delivery date to schedule the drop off. Expedited shipping is currently not an option. We do not ship to Hawaii, Alaska, any U.S. Territory, APO/FPO, or any other international address. Please note that orders could arrive in multiple packages. These shipping times are only estimates, as we occasionally experience delays due to supply chain issues.
Returns If you have any issues with your item, we are just a phone call or email away. We offer returns within 30 days of the purchase date, except for FreeRider and EWheels products, which have a 14-day return policy. EZ Carrier items have a 10-day return window. Please note that Journey and Tzora items are non-returnable. To start a return, contact us at info@restoremobility.com or call 800-971-5369. To qualify, the item must be in new and unused condition, and in the original box and packaging. You will be responsible for two fees: return shipping and, in some cases, a restocking fee. Restocking fees vary by item, ranging from none to 5%-25%. Since each vendor has different policies, please contact us for details about your specific item. Once your return is accepted, we will provide instructions on how and where to send your package. Please note that most add-on accessories and any white glove delivery fees are non-refundable.
Package Refusal If you choose to refuse the package for any reason, it will be processed as a standard return, and all applicable return fees, including return shipping, restocking fees, and processing fees, will apply as outlined above.
Package Undeliverable If the package cannot be delivered due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g., a blocked driveway or the delivery truck being unable to access your location) but you still wish to receive the package, you will be responsible for any re-delivery fees. Additionally, you will be responsible for covering any storage fees incurred during the time required to arrange a new delivery plan.
Damages/Issues Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Refunds We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return. Once approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too. If more than 15 business days have passed since we’ve approved your return, please contact us at info@restoremobility.com.
Exchanges The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to go through the return process for the item you have, and once the return is accepted, you would then make a separate purchase for the new item.
Cancellations If you wish to cancel your order, please contact us as soon as possible. Payments are typically captured at the time of shipment; however, for items that take longer to ship, such as backordered or larger items, we need to capture payment within 7 days of the purchase date anyway to prevent the payment from expiring. If the item has not left the warehouse, cancellations are usually straightforward, but we must confirm with the warehouse before issuing a refund. If the item has shipped, cancellation is not guaranteed. Products received due to late cancellation will be treated as normal returns, with all applicable fees outlined in the "Returns" section above. Refused packages are also treated as normal returns and subject to standard return and restocking fees as detailed in the "Package Refusal" section above.

We received our lift bed with no issues. I had some questions about delivery & Evan responded immediately, answering all my concerns. We paid for white glove delivery so the bed would be set up for us & the delivery company was informative & on time.
